NPDL’s paper accepted to Advanced Optical Materials

UNIST EE Nanostructured Photonic Devices Lab. (NPDL) researcher Jaeyeon Yu, Seongjin Park, Inyoung Hwang, Daeik Kim and Prof. Jongwon Lee’s research paper entitled “Third-Harmonic Generation from Plasmonic Metasurfaces Coupled to Intersubband Transitions” has been published in Advanced Optical Materials. Advanced Optical Materials is one of the most prestigious journals in the field of Optics and Photonics.

In this paper, a nonlinear metasurface based on combining the giant nonlinear response of quantum-engineered multi-quantum wells with plasmonic nanoantennas for third-harmonic generation is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Our metasurface could be applied to nonlinear holography, spectroscopy, and novel nonlinear light sources.
