Abstract:

Competition for developing smart cars and even self-driving cars is heating up. Major automakers and governments are putting in significant efforts to realize their vision to bring cars of the future that are safe, intelligent, convenient and efficient. In this talk. We will illuminate one aspect of the recent smart car frenzy, which is the communication standards for vehicles. The standards are mainly spearheaded by the U.S., and aims at making driving safer. We will identify some technical issues, achievement, and ongoing works on this front.
